How do vegetarians feel about vegans, and how do vegans feel about vegetarians?
Simple enough, if you are vegan, then how do you feel about vegetarians. Alternatively, if you are vegetarian, how do you feel about vegans?

- I'm vegan because I oppose domestication, captivity, cruelty, and factory farming. I would have to know someone and ask him/her about his/her positions on those things before I could draw any conclusions. (The label, alone, wouldn't help me.) Still, even if they differed in opinion from me, that wouldn't mean I would necessarily have negative thoughts about them anymore than a person of one religion should look down on a person of another religion. It's a different perspective that may or may not be based on different levels of understanding or knowledge. I think that anyone who chooses a non-animal-based product at any time, is terrific. If they do it more than once, even better. We can each only do what we can do (or know how to do). Compassion is always a very good thing.
- A bloody turf war has been raging between Vegans and Vegetarians since the dawn of man.
- I'm strict vegetarian, I eat completely vegan diet for my health and well-being so I don't find it necessary to worry about my clothes, furniture or cosmetics being vegan or not even though I use a lot of natural products. I think a lot of vegan/vegetarians who are really vocal about peta, animal cruelty or how "gross it is to eat a dead animal" are really obnoxious and annoying. I find some abuse and treatment of animals to be horrible but that was never something that made me want to be vegan.
- Vegan here, Hmmm, I no longer understand the morals behind vegetarianism. I find the egg and dairy industries to be crueler still than meat industry on the hole. Plus many vegetarians don't consider animal testing when they choose to live with killing animals. I don't lose sleep over this though, its their choice and hey, I used to be one of them. I'd like to also thank Chelseamae6 for being the first person in ages to use the term "stric vegetarianism" correctly, instead of calling himself vegan.:)
- I find some vegetarians unsupportable. One family I know who claim to be vegetarians but are fishytarians asked me to prepare a paella. About 60 animals died in the process! I demand human rights for molluscs and bivalves. Just because they are not pretty and furry.etc. etc.!
- I'm a vegan, i used to be a vegetarian. i respect that vegetarians dont eat meat, every little helps, but i do think that they could put more effort into it and be vegan but its their decision.
- I'm vegan.. I chose to be and, I understand that I may see things differently than others. I do not judge others whether they are vegetarian, meat eaters, and any other category that pops up every other day (Ex: flexitarians). I think that vegetarians to some extent are doing their part and what they believe is right for them. It's not a contest to see who is doing "better" than someone else becasue of the things that one doesn't include into their diets. Vegetarians are better than nothing.
- As you can see from most of the responses so far, vegans tend to feel about vegetarians the same way that vegetarians tend to feel about omnivores, and vegetarians tend to feel about vegans the same way that omnivores tend to feel about vegetarians.
- i respect vegetarians for taking a stand in something they believe in
- I'd be a pretty sh*tty veteran to pass judgment on people instead of just respecting their choices in lifestyle. I will say, however, that I find it really hypocritical when someone says "I went vegetarian for the animals" and they still eat eggs and dairy products from factory farms.
- I am a vegan - vegetarians are fine by me. I look at it as every little bit helps, heck even concious omnivores are great. All that really matters is that people know what they are eating and where it is coming from. Not just for the sake of the animals and people who produce them, but for the sake of their own health and quality of life.
- I feel it's their choice, BUT it would be nice if vegetarians realised how much harm (including deaths) they are causing to animals by eating/drinking milk, eggs, and honey. I mean, they contribute to killing male cows (no use to dairy industry), they contribute to all sorts of other cruelty even if they eat only "free range" or organic food/drink, and yet they seem to think they are somehow avoiding being being involved in animal cruelty. BUT if they want to be vegetarians, that's their choice.
- Depends on the person. I tend to not judge people by a whole group
- I'm vegetarian and I admire vegans. However, I don't admire the vegans who force their views on others and say that vegetarians aren't doing enough to help animals. I disagree with those vegans anyway, because vegetarians ARE doing their bit for animals by giving up meat. But I do admire most vegans.
- I really admire vegans. I may even become vegan one of these days (most of my meals end up being vegan anyway)
