  3. Yes, tofu does count as protein, and also, if you're lacto-ovo, you can have milk and eggs. Oh, even though I'm not vegetarian, I'm hungry already. Probably because I haven't had breakfast yet?

  6. peanut butter and eggs mostly for me my uncle uses a protein powder in smoothies he makes there are plenty of supplements in any health food store I think tofu does and soy does...it has estrogen (or something similar) in it (soy) so guys aren't supposed to consume very much it's easier for a female (typically) b/c they use/need less but I know of guys who are perfectly happy on a vegetarian diet.
  7. There is protein in almost everything. Beans, nuts, seeds, grains, vegetables, and even fruit contain protein. Tofu and tempeh are excellent sources of protein, as are beans. Many vegetarians also eat eggs and dairy products, which contain protein as well. People don't need nearly as much protein as the meat industry would have us believe. In fact, eating too much protein is harmful.
  8. idiot! Do you think your precious meat is the only thing that gives protein?!?!
  9. by eating lots of different types of food. (non meat products)

  11. Tofu, soy, beans, nuts, certain veggies, etc.. There are lots of places to get the protein and vitamins, but sometimes it's kinda hard to find them. Lucky for us, they invented boca and morning star! lol. But yes, tofu counts, as well as all the others that are listed. And you cant always get them from vitamins because they may have animal origins, so it's really important to read the labels. KawaiiPOP♥
  12. tofu, soy in general, cheese, beans, nuts.
  13. Protein: From Primusweb.com: 3. Is it possible to get enough protein on a vegetarian diet? Absolutely, it’s actually difficult to become protein deficient unless you quit eating all together. Just about all unrefined foods contain significant amounts of protein. Potatoes are 11% protein, oranges 8%, beans 26%, and tofu 34%. In fact, people have been known to grow at astounding rates (doubling their body size in only six months) on a diet of only 5% protein. These people are infants and they do it during the first 6 months of life, fueled by breast milk, which contains just 5% protein. End quote. http://www.theveggietable.com/articles/p... http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname... Good sources of protein include eggs, milk, collard greens, cauliflower and many legumes including lentils, split peas, kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans and garbanzo beans. When discussing food sources of protein, nutritionists often speak in terms of "complete" and "incomplete" proteins. Foods that provide complete protein are those that include all of the essential amino acid, while foods that provide some or none of the essential amino acids are said to be incomplete. Eggs, dairy foods, meat, fish and poultry are typically considered to be complete proteins. Vegetarians, and especially vegans, often do not have a source of 'complete protein' in their diets, but can easily obtain all of the essential amino acids by eating a variety of beans, grains, nuts, seeds, and vegetables, thus effectively making complete protein
