How often should my rabbit be fed fresh vegetables?
I usually just give him pellets and the occasional vegetable. How often should I feed him vegetables, though? (He is a dwarf rabbit, if that matters any.) thanks

- once evry 6 months
- I'd try to give him some everyday. My guinea pigs get carrots and fresh greens daily, and they love it!
- every few days. when i went to the vet, they told me that i need to feed her fresh greens often, but she doesn't need to have them every day.
- Every day
- Alot. Because rabbits are so hungry.
- i think you should feed him vegetables everyday to keep him strong and happy i guess...
- okay.. I used to have dwarf rabbits and I used to just change there food every other day, but sometimes I would change it every other day. It mostly depends on how much of it they eat and if its still fresh. If it like gross looking then it most likely should be change.
- i to have a dwarf rabbit and i give him pellets everyday and vegetables every 2 days.
- About 1/4 cup of greens must be given ONCE A DAY.Preferably during noon.No exceptions. The keyword is:Variety. You need to give different greens per day.introduce one vegetable, fruit or greens per day as to not curb the rabbit's dietary need.Overfeeding of greens can give diarrhea to the rabbit. In such case, feed the rabbit wild raspberry canes.the diarrhea should stop about 24 hours later. Timothy Hay must be available 24/7.Hay-based Pellets, that must have 17% crude protien and 20% fiber, must be given every meal.About 1/2 cup per serving. ...
- Vegetables should be given daily, along with hay, preferably timothy hay. Pellets should be limited. This website has good diet suggestions http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html
- I think about 3 times a week
- Hi...I've been raising and showing rabbits for 10 years. I never recommend rabbits be fed vegetables, fruits, or grass. It can cause fatal digestive problems and diarrhea (which causes dehydration). If you really want to it should only be a rare, special treat in very small amounts. Rabbits do best on a diet of good quality timothy pellets with 15-16% crude protein. A good feed can be found at Tractor Supply or a feed mill near you, they usually come in 25 or 50 lb. bags for $8-$15 so they are much cheaper and last a lot longer than pet store or grocery store brands (which those should be avoided as you can never tell how long they have been sitting on a shelf or what is in them exactly). Just be sure to store the feed in something like a rubbermaid bin to keep it fresh. Some brands I like are Purina, Heinhold, Showrite, Producer's Pride, and DuMor. Then a timothy mix hay is the best. And I would suggest about a half a cup of pellets a day for a Netherland Dwarf, unless he starts gaining too much weight, then cut him back a little bit. Hay can never be fed too much. Hope this helps and please feel free to contact me with any more questions.
- I think the answer is different depending on whether you are talking to a rabbit breeder running a commercial operation with bunnies stuck in cages, versus an adoptive parent to a special house-rabbit who lives with you and gets plenty of exercise. A pet rabbit should have a nice salad of good greens every day. Pellets should be limited, and fruits are a treat. Timothy hay (alfalfa for a baby) should be available all the time in unlimited quantities. See this link for what veggies to choose, as all are not equal and some could lead to digestive problems/diarrhea: http://www.rabbit.org/care/veggies.html
