Why do vegetarians have an IQ 5 points higher than the average?
I read that vegetarians usually have a higher IQ than average, and that there is an unusually high amount of vegetarian members in Mensa.

- I would question the surveys that were taken place because you would also have to consider genetics, environment, upbringing etc, when dealing with an attribute such as IQ because there are so many variables that can affect IQ in an ecological sense. Also, many vegetarians act out of conscientiousness for the animals because they empathise with them being alive, but they do not give the same consideration to plants, which are also alive. You would need an absolutely large sample population to actually produce results that can produce a conclusion that can be taken seriously.
- Don't you know 73.6% of statistics are false? ;)
- really ?..yay me ... x
- 'but they do not give the same consideration to plants, which are also alive.' - Dude, Do plants breathe with lungs like us, bleed red blood like we do, look into your eyes, etc... I'm a vegetarian, and i think of eating meat in similar terms as cannibalism, i don't know why, i was raised as a vegetarian, and i understand that meat-eaters were just raised as such as well. I do think and ponder and i don't judge, because i know that they were raised like that, like i was raised as i was. My IQ is 130. I don't even know if that's high. But what i have noticed with IQ tests, is that if i take one in the morning, it's not the same score as if i took it in the evening. I believe that the test is not smart. Or accurate. In measuring true human intelligence. Because sometimes our intelligence differs, and belongs to the emotional side.
- Wisdom comes with a Higher Consciousness. Violent eating habits, eating animals, is covered up with disguises and denial.
- Maybe it's because of the way we think?
- Less toxic sludge in the body circulating through the brain. Vegetarians are also much less likely to develop Alzheimer's (it also helps to stay away from fluoridated water).
- Not sure but I've never met a dumb vegetarian
