Can I plant seeds from fresh vegetables and fruits?

If so, what is the best method for my area: southeast?

1. make sure you have good soil for the plant you are using...and just take care of it like any other plant but certain foods need different attention...
2. I the farmers didnt use any chemicals to plant the ones ur eating i believe you can
3. you will have to let the seeds dry out first, but you can use them
4. You will need to use mature fruit and dried seeds. The soil should be moist but not wet. Otherwise you are promoting mold. Since most vegetables are hybrids, though, you may not be getting the same variety you bought. Many seeds from hybrids don't germinate, either, but it's worth a try.
