What should vegetarians eat when they have a sinus infection?
I became a vegetarian this year, and this is my first cold as one. I used to eat chicken soup, but now I know that's no good. What do other vegetarians suggest?

- I actually like a mixture of hot water and soy sauce--but a lot of people drink tea.
- I make this when I am feeling under the weather. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it... Hope it helps you feel better.... http://www.theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/index.php?RecipeID=2061
- you can buy soup thats made with vegetable stock or tomato puree. Walmart has these little pouches of soup in the International Foods aisle ( they are vegetarian, says so on the label).. I LOVE the minestrone. OH! also the Oriental Ramen Noodles are vegan! so eat up..
- Avoid dairy. Dairy is most likely the cause of your congestion and infection. When dairy breaks down in the body, it basically becomes a glue and causes excess phlegm, congestions, and sometimes impaired breathing. Ditch the dairy. Eat plenty of produce especially citrus, spinach, broccoli, and whole grain products.
- I rarely become sick, but when I feel a cold or anything coming on or when I'm sick, I eat fruit. Usually I'll eat oranges... I'll eat them all day. I also use a saline nasal spray to clean out my nose, but no, it cannot get into the sinuses, but helps with all that gunk and keeping nasal passages clean. Avoid all mucus producing foods (you can find a list somewhere).
- ^^ never had a cold or cough after becoming a vegetarian, milk is a possiblity for u having a sinus infection if ur a lacto vegetarian,.. chicken soup is a not good... for your sinus infection... get a liter of water, put 7 calamansi or 2 lemons and squeeze it then put a teaspoon of rock salt. drink it for a day and youll be fine..
