Why do some vegetarians still eat chicken?
I went to a vegan restaurant with a couple of friends (their invite), and although there was no red meat on the menu, they had chicken and fish. When I asked the waiter why, he said that some vegetarians eat chicken and fish. Why is that? Wouldn't that make a person a non-vegetarian because they're eating meat? Or is it because it's not red meat?

- because some food don't have some sources other kinds got
- They are not a "true" vegetarian.... they just opt not to eat red meat. That's what I figure.
- if they are eating chicken, they are not true vegitarians
- there are different types of vegetarians http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarian scroll down a lil and you will see the different types
- They eat chicken b'cause they're in denial!
- They eat chicken because they didn't get full eating broccoli and brussel sprouts.
- Since everything else tasts like Chicken, the vegatarians allow the actual source to be comsumed as well!
- Because some vegetarians only refuse to eat cute animals. Chicken and fish are not cute, therefore it's OK to eat them.
- there are not vegitarians if they eat chicken. Vegitarians don't eat fish either.
- A true Vegetarian does not eat meat of any kind. Pescarians eat fish, no meat. If you eat chicken you're a carnivore...get over calling yourself vegetarian. Vegans eat no meat, dairy, or animal products of any kind. Some ppl call themselves by these names but don't practice them.
