Is vegetarian food healthier than non-vegetarian food?
I recently turned vegetarian due to allergies, do you think this will help at all? Why?

- Yes vegetarian food is healthier than non-vegetarian food. This is so because veg-food is light and easy to digest.
- Some vegetables can give allergies, too.(strawberry, peanuts, raspberry, and so on).Allergy is a conditionn due to an imbalanced immunity, and for a proper immunity we need animal protein...
- well....meat helps u get strong so i dont think u will get a lot stronger than how u r right now unless u drink milk but other than tht fruits and vegetables r very healthy for ur body so u might feel better
- Basically non-vegetarian food has more fats whereas vegetarian food has minerals, vitamins and more nutritious and has less calories.Proteims are contained in both. Now you can conclude.
- If done correctly, yes, a vegetarian diet is very healthy. Since most saturated fats are found in meats and animal products, then you'll cut down your intake of saturated fats. Also, you'll lower your risk of getting food poisoning, since undercooked meat and meat held at the wrong temperature are good ways to get a food-borne illness. Buy the book, The New Becoming Vegetarian by Melina and someone else I can't remember. That book can give you the information you need to stay on a healthy vegetarian diet.
- Yes. food is healthier and less or no fat. you aint eating animals
- Not necessarily. You could have a vegetarian diet of breaded deep fried veggies and beans and compare that with a balanced diet of lean meat and fresh fruit and veggies-now which is healthier? It's about balance. Find out what you're allergic to and adjust your diet according to that-don't eliminate an entire food group. This will create unbalance. You were designed to eat some meat.
- Vegetarian food is NOT healthier food then NON-Veg food because you cant get the protein you need from red meat/meat. I was a veggie-head for about 3 months but i stop cause i didn't like the food like: Tofu (EEEEW) -LIZ
- vegetarian food is much heahlthier. I'm a vegetarian since I was a little girl. Non-vegetarian food is not healthy at all for your body. it contains to much oil or salt which isn't to good for your body!
- Yes. Meat is full of cholestrol, animal protein, and fats. To much of all 3 of these can slowly cause kidney, and heart problems, and eventually death. Unless your allergic to plants then a diet of all fruits and vegitables will strengthen your immune system ,and your allergies may still be there but won't be as bad. After all our bodies have no need for meat, or dairy. And, if your a christian, your not supposed to kill or steal. If you drink milk, or eat honey, that was stolen. If you eat meat, that was killed.
- It depends. If you eat chips and cakes when you usually ate meat, then it will not be as healthy as your old diet. If you substitute meat for fruits and veggies, it will be a lot healthier.
- It depends on what you're allergic to. Theoretically, eating vegetarian foods should put less stress on your body. But, if you're allergic to wheat, then cutting out chicken isn't really going to help you. Hope it works out for you. But, if not, you might want to consider homeopathy or accupuncture.
- It is healthier. Now depends if it includes fish and seafoods. They contain fat acids which are indispensable for the body. Veggies explained here : http://www.globaldiets.info/vegetarian-diet.php
- yes
- I think it will help a lot if its organic.
