Is it hard to find vegetarian food in Manila, Philipines?
I'm going there this summer, and am concerned. Is there a lot of hidden meat in Filipino food (for example lard....) What should I look out for? Thanks so much!

- I go to a Filipino restaurant here in Toronto Canada and get Pancit noodle with a stir fried veg, and tofu dishes also. Of course in a country were there national meat is the pig, and with all the pork and chicken dishes around, I have had a dish made like adobo and they use seitan a wheat gluten like meat in the dish. I have made Lumpia with all veg filling when I was a chef.
- allveggielinks.com has a part where you can find veggie restaurants and recipes around the world
- I'm not sure how much vegetarian food is available there. But I'm Filipino and my grandma makes vegetarian Filipino food for me easily (like making a separate dish of pancit without meat and putting vegetables in lumpia instead of meat), so I'm sure there is some food available, but you may need to ask for it.
