I am a primary school teacher -- How can I demonstrate the value of eating fresh foods and vegetables to kids?
I want to show them the value of eating fresh fruits and vegetables and quality meats over stuff that is preserved and packaged. They are 3rd grade students. Can you help me think of a hands on example to show the students?

- You can start by eating vegetarian food yourself...and because students usually want to be just like their teacher, they will do the same...I think...
- I would strongly suggest that you show them pictures of their favourite animals eating raw fruits, vegetables and meat. Children really love animals at that age. You can ask them to choose a favourite animal of their choice and show them the picture of what it eats. This will surely encourage them. Use popoye's spinach too! All the best. Do let me know if this worked!
- bring veggies in and eat it no duh
- Have them plant some veggies on the schoolyard or try some in pots in your classroom.
- Take them on a school trip to a hospital for the obese, or people in bad state of health because of eating - say 'these didn't eat their fruit and veg'...or just show pics lol - shock them into a lifestyle change...
- Have some examples of food that has been flown from around the world and compare to local produce which is not only fresher but is important to local growers to sell.
