- vegan and vegetarian. vegans are scared of leather and suede and fur and b.i.t.c.h. about KFC. vegetarians don't eat meat.
- Here is my researched info for you: Types of Vegetarians One thing that many people don't realize or understand is that there are different types of vegetarians. Each individual vegetarian has his or her own personal reasons for choosing their diet, and these reasons determine exactly what foods they eliminate. Total Vegetarians eat only plant food. They do not eat any animal foods, including fish, eggs, dairy products, and honey. Vegans not only omit all animal products from their diets, but they also eliminate them from the rest of their life. Vegans use nothing from animals, such as leather, wool, and silk. Lacto-Vegetarians will include dairy products into their diet of plant food. Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarians eat both eggs and dairy products. Pesco-Vegetarians include fish into their diets. Pollo-Vegetarians eat poultry, such as chicken, turkey, and duck.
- Well here's what I've noticed in the vegetarian world....... Types of vegetarians: The newbie vegetarian- Try's out the vegetarian lifestyle because either a.) they're trying to eat more healthy or b.) they can't afford to buy meat anymore, or c.) they heard about this cool new diet. They usually go back to eating meat within a couple of weeks. The anorexic vegetarian- This person has deleted nearly all foods that have fat and calories from their diet and meat just happend to be on their no-no list. They are vegetarians for weight control reasons only. You can find them squeezing into a size 3 leather mini-skirt after starving for weeks to shed that last pound. The political vegetarian- These are the ones you see on t.v. picketing fur trade shows and blasting celebrities for wearing leather. They make the most noise about cruetly to animals yet they wear clothes made by 8yr olds in sweatshops overseas. They try to guilt-trip everyone they come in contact with to not eat meat and are usually aggressive and foaming at the mouth. These are the ones that give vegetarians a bad name. The calm vegetarian- These are the hippie peace loving vegetarians that try to keep the peace between the political vegetarians and the meat-eaters. These vegetarians can see both sides of the argument seeing as how they still eat meat yet call themselves vegetarians. I hope this gave you more clarity on the different types of vegetarians. Good luck.
- Don't believe what people say when they say they're vegetarian but eat chicken/fish. There is no such thing as a pollo-vegetarian or pesco-vegetarian. There is however a pescatarian, someone who eats fish but no other meat. Here's a true definition for vegetarianism and veganism taken from miriana's answer to the question on this link http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AugrE7xJy.bwm3wlPjLoMjB26xR.?qid=20070704142924AAOLWTR -Lacto-ovo vegetarianism: No meat & fish; yes eggs; yes dairy; yes honey -Lacto vegetarianism: No meat & fish; no eggs;yes dairy;yes honey -Ovo vegetarianism: No meat & fish; yes eggs; no dairy;yes honey -Veganism: No meat & fish; no eggs; no dairy; no honey No vegetarians consume any meat. Fish and chicken are considered meat!
- Im a peso-seafood still.....sorry, but its still hard
- 1) Lacto Ovo (No meat, this includes gelitan products because it is made from ground up bones. 2) Ovo (No meat or eggs) 3)Vegan (No meat, eggs, or milk. Some Vegans won't wear leather, or eat honey since it is made by animals, but you dont' have to do these last two things to be considered vegan) 4) Raw (All you can eat is raw fruits and veggies. this is a dangerous diet, and really should not be a choise, because many health problems arise in people on this diet for lack of nutrients. ) Hope this helped
- raw foodism is not dangerous at all, nor is it always vegetarian. anyone who eats fish or poultry is not vegetarian. AT ALL. anyone who doesn't eat any animal products is considered vegan, not vegetarian. some vegetarians eat dairy and eggs, and are ovo-lacto vegetarians. some eat dairy but no eggs (lacto) and, less commonly, some eat eggs but no dairy (ovo). there are a few other branches, such as fruitarians that eat mostly fruit. these are forms of vegetarianism in the fact that no meat is consumed, but i would venture to say that they fall into another category altogether.
