Vegetarians???
How many of you are vegetarians and what are your reasons? I'm doing a research story in my extra-curricular news program after school about vegetarianism, and I was wondering how many of you were vegetarian. If you're not, please post too, so I can get a better percentage. :)

- nope
- I'm am slowly getting off of meat, it is too heavy on my stomach, plus I really love chickens, sheep, cows and pigs.
- Im a vegetarian because its healthier and i dont like to eat animals.
- I am a vegetarian, and I have been one all my life because it is part of my religion.
- I am a vegetarian for the health benefits, and because of the fact that I do not like to eat animals. The way they are treated makes me feel guilty.
- Not vegetarian / more of 80% veggie and 20% animal protein. Put more limits on processed carbs. Just feel better.
- nope. However, I do not consume red meat very often, usually substituting ground pork or ground turkey for ground beef in recipes. I would call myself an ovo-lacto-avi-tarian
- Vegetarian-because of factory farming
- Not vegetarian because I think humans need some meat in their diet. I eat small high quality portions of meat or seafood about 3-4 nights per week.
- I've been a vegetarian my whole life, and I continue to be one because I was raised that way and meat is just gross to me. If I was starving to death and there was only meat, then I would eat it, but since I'm not in that situation I don't want meat as a part of my diet.
- Iam a vgetarian and have been one for about 3 years. I just don't like the thought of eating animals because I love them and I never want to see an animal brutally killed. Or killed at all really.
- My 2 daughters and I have been vegetarian for about 4 years. We came across a video of factory farming and it changed our lives. We do not miss eating meat at all. You learn to be quite creative in preparing meals. Animals have feelings and suffer tremendously when being slaughtered. Many years ago people hunted and ate animals to survive - there is no need for that today. If people would visualize the animals face before they bit into a burger or a chicken nugget they might change their mind. I cannot eat anything that has a face and a heart. You should log onto PETA.COM for some more info for your story.
- I'm a vegetarian, because I cant stand thinking that I used to eat animals. I know that its healthier, but thats not why I switched. Im also moving away from dairy and eggs, but its harder to stop eating dairy than meat.
