Vegetarians?
I don't understand why there are vegetarians...I mean some animals are there TO be eaten...we've been doing it for thousands of years. Humans need protein. I can see if you are against hurting animals, as I am too, but it's essential to our diet. What are your reasons for being a vegetarian other than "It kills animals"? LMFAO. The responses I got were hilarious. Thanks for the laughs. Gee, there are some pretty hostile vegetarians out there! Does not eating meat make you hate everyone? It sure seems like it ;D And apparently they're added a new race: vegetarians. LMFAOLMFAO LMFAO. The responses I got were hilarious. Thanks for the laughs. You are a lost cause. Oh yes your post hit too close to home =/ =/ =/ lmfao what the hell would you say that would ever affect me? We are talking about vegetarians. Get a life.

- 1) Animals are not meant to be eaten. Our bodies were NOT made for it. 2) Humans were also starting fires with flint thousands of years ago. Still doing that too? 3) Seriously? There are so many other sources of protein i\I don't even know why you bothered asking. 4)Vegetarians save 73 lives a years, so it's not some pointless stuck up task.
- You are obviously misinformed. Almost everything you said was absolutely incorrect. Go educate yourself and do not waste our time with your ignorant questions.
- First off, eating animals is not essential to our diet. There is nothing in meat that cannot be obtained from a vegetarian source(including protein, which is found is just about everything). Also, just b/c something has been done for "thousands of years" does not make it the right thing for everyone. While eating meat has been apart of human evolution, factory farming and present methods of animal slaughter have not. It is completely opinion as to weather or not animals are hear for any purpose besides living their own lives. Human beings cannot even figure out the meaning to our own existence, much less any other creature.
- ur racist to vegetarians stop asking ignorant questions b/c i bet u couldnt go a day with out eating an animal i dont appreciate eating things that were once ALIVE!!!
- Maybe watching this video would help you to understand why there are vegetarians: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIjanhKqVC4 "We've been doing it for thousands of years" An activity does not become morally justified simply because it has been going on for a long period of time. Genocide has been going on for a long time, but that doesn't make it right. "Humans need protein" Yes, and we can get all the protein we need by eating fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains. Have you ever heard of someone in a developed country dying of a protein deficiency? See high-protein vegetarian foods here: http://www.tryveg.com/cfi/toc/?v=08sources "It's essential to our diet" If this is true, why are there so many people in India who have been vegetarians since birth and they are perfectly healthy? The American Dietetic Association is one of the nation's leading nutrition experts and it states "vegetarian diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases." http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs.xsl/advocacy_933_ENU_HTML.htm "What are your reasons for being vegetarian" I think that being opposed to animal suffering is a good enough reason to be vegetarian. My other reason is that it's healthier; I don't have to take cholesterol-lowering drugs like almost everyone in my family. I lost 20 pounds of extra padding when I went vegetarian and I have more energy now. Feel free to e-mail me through my profile if you have more questions about vegetarianism :)
- Please educate yourself before asking a question. Animals were not put here to be eaten. And if what you say is true, then why aren't you eating dogs and cats? Protein does not just come from meat. Protein comes from many sources; beans, tofu, and some drinks like soy milk come fortified with it. For many years there was slavery, so we should all have slaves just because they did it for so long, right? Not. No it's not essential to our diet, and vegetarians and vegans alike prove this every day! If it's essential, why do so many people around the world live to their healthy age and die healthy even if they are veg? Being vegetarian saves seventy three animals lives a year. Eaten right, veg diets can make your body healthier than having meat clogged in your arteries. Meat 'farming' pollutes the environment and takes up acres upon acres of land. It also takes grains and water to give to the animals to fatten them up that could be used for starving children and adults. I hope I was of service. EDIT: You know what? I just have a question. Do you know any vegetarians?
- If eating meat is really "essential" to the human diet (as you say) then veg*ns wouldn't exist--we'd all be dead from our choice of diet. You can get all the vitamins/minerals/nutrients you need from a veg diet. It doesn't sound as though you sincerely care about why veg*ns have made the choices they have, so why post this question? In case I'm wrong and you do genuinely want to educate yourself about something, you can always always make use of your browser's search box--there's a ton of info out there. Oh, and to answer your question, my reasons for turning vegan are to improve my own life/health, that of other people, animals, and less destruction to the environment.
- EX CORPSE MUNCHER : MOCK MEAT ROCKS. MY FOOD IS MURDER FREE. AND IT TASTES BETTER TOO. THINK ABOUT IT. A HAMBURGER STOPS A BEATING HEART.
- Yes, humans do need protein, but you can get protein in a slaughter-free way. And I feel much better about myself for doing it like that. Sorry for trying to eradicate all forms of violence in this world. It's people like you who turn a blind eye to things like this. You need to get with the program.
- You don't need meat in your diet. Your initial premise is wrong Isn't killing an animal "hurting" it ? this: "but it's essential to our diet." is nonsense. Feel free to criticise the vegetarian diet, but at least base it on facts. You are correct, humans have been eating meat for thousands of years. Humans have also ensured rapid population growth by ( up to the 17C ) embarking on a process of incest and getting girls pregnent as soon as they are capable of childbirth ( about 12 years old for most ) Are you also saying thats right ? Or are you being selective about what you want from history ? Jsut because its happened in the past, does'nt mean its right for the future. Some of us are part of an evolving race, not stuck in nealdothol times "some animals are there TO be eaten". That is such a narrow-minded view that appears to be the result of a meat-eating culture brainwashing you. Last time i looked at our cows and sheep, they were not queueing up asking to be eaten. Because humans breed them, are you saying that gives up absolute rights over them ? Maybe we should breed humans for food too ? After all, surely if we bree them specifically for food it will be ok, eh ? What do you think ? Do you think ? You mention "racism" as if we all answered in that way. I've got news for you, ONE person did. The majority of the rest suggested you educate yourself. I notice you didn't pick up on that statement and laugh, was it too close to home for you ? Stick to your modelling answers.
