My friend recently became a vegetarian....she hates the though of the poor dead animals sitting on her plate... But She thinks she can eat fish.....because it is a mindless animal and isn't really meat....Do vegetarians eat fish? i said that it was against the vegetarian thing but she says she can...I know its a preference thing but those or you that are do you eat fish?

- I guess it all depends on how "vegetarian" you are. I have a couple of friends who eat fish, and say that it is not a meat. Then there are some die hard vegetarians, who don't even touch milk and cheese. It just depends on your tastes.
- Vegetarians come in all descriptions. Some don't eat red meat, some don't eat "anything with a face", some will eat eggs but not chicken... She's referred to as a "demi-vegetarian" or a "pesco-vegetarian"
- Not ususally.
- Fish are animals and thus they are meat. True vegetarians will not eat fish. You may want to inform your friend that fish feel pain. They die very painful deaths due to suffocation, crushing and depressurization.
- No a true veggie will not eat anything that comes from an animal. And they certainly will not eat fish! No eggs etc. No animal products whatsoever, that is a true vegetarian.
- It depends. Some Vegetarians don't eat any kind of animal. But, if she wants to eat fish, that is up to her!
- Eveything is a vegetarian which has no blood in it, like egg, but even fish has blood, so it is not vegetarian. CHEERS!!!
- I dont really know. If she dosent like seeing dead animals on her plate, dosent a fish count? Then again, the whole purpose of vegetarians is not eating meat from cows and stuff. A fish isnt a meat. Im not sure if fish is on the menu. I think fish is ok.
- When I gave up meat for Lent, I still ate fish because it wasn't like beef, pork or, poultry. So yes, you can still eat fish and even other seafood, like shellfish.
- vegetarian people who hate hunter, trappers, fishers i am a hunter and fisher i hate people who protest those activites it bonds people together (Fish is a meat) the indians hit the nail on the head- -Vegetarian -Old Indian word for "Bad Hunter."
- a true vegan doesnt eat anything that the animal produces meat, eggs, milk, ect. but there are all diffrent kinds of vegitarians. some eat no meat but they do partake of milk & chesse.
- nobody is 100% vegetarian . because everyday we take bread ,cookie cakes , some medicines ..it all contains animal products ... so do not worry your friend taking only fish ..then it will be 89% vegetarian ..
- I'ma LACTO-Vegetarian and i've been one for 3 years. I do eat Tuna-Fish, i would eat other fish but i get really sick when I do. If she is a Vegan, she cannot eat fish or drink milk or eat dairy, if she is a Lacto(as myself) she can eat fish, eggs, dairy and such.
- I'm a vegetarian but i dint eat fish but my mam is a vegetarian 2 and she eats fish like if u didn't have dairy products you would be a vegan so yes there are different types of vegetarians like my friends is another vegetarian but she would eat a small bit of fish now and again so it depends on how u feel about animals i suppose
- being vegetarian meens you dont eat anything that has a face. and the extreame vegetarian doesn't eat any animal products.
- There are three kinds of vegetarians; vegans, lacto-ovotarians, and ovotarians. Vegans eat nop animal product or animals biproducts (ice cream, milk, eggs, etc.) Lacto-ovotarians eat no animal products or biproducts except eggs and milk. Ovotarians eat no animal products or biproducts except eggs. I am a lacto-ovotarian but I do not drink milk straight. I drink soy milk. I eat NO meat of any kind. I feel much healthier and energized since going to this diet.
- i'm not a vegetarian, but i highly respect those that are. personally i think if someone is a vegetarian they should live it to the tee...as they say. they shouldn't eat ANY meat. and fish is meat. i know some don't even eat eggs b/c they would have baby animals IN them if they hadn't been cooked or whatnot.
- I don't eat fish, and I don't refer to others who eat fish as vegetarians. Vegetarians do not eat any kind of flesh--whether it's red meat, poultry, or seafood. If it used to be a living animal, then we don't eat it. People who eat seafood are referred to as pescetarians. However, some vegetarians may eat dairy, eggs, and other foods that came from an animal--just nothing that involved killing the animal. People who do not eat any animal products are vegans. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, so I eat dairy and eggs but no flesh.
- It is a common myth that vegetarians eat fish. True vegetarians do not eat any fish or meat, fish are animals too! Some people who still eat fish but no meat may call themselves "pescetarians" or "demi or semi vegetarian".
