Does freezing fresh vegetables help with storing them for longer?
If so, should I cut the vegetables first? And what should I put them in? Since I don't have one of those silly, way too expensive, never gonna buy it, vacuum bag storing things.

- The best way to preserve vegetables is it put a dash of salt over it, put it in a Zip Lock bag, try to get all the air out of it, and put it in the refrigerator (this will make it last about 1-2 weeks depending on conditions.) if you need to save em longer, freeze them. Hope it helps, thats what I do to preserve veggies
- Here you are - the website down below.
- You don't want to freeze fresh veggies. The cells burst and when you thaw them they'll be mushy. Cook them, then freeze.
- Don't freeze your veggies without blanching them first - place them in boiling water for a minute or two and then plunge them into ice water. Dry them & then store in freezer bags - make sure it's freezer and not just storage bags! Try to get as much air out of the bag as you can, that will help with freezer burn! I freeze a lot of fresh veggies that I grow every year!
- They should be blanched first. Different veggies have different blanching times. I have heard of people freezing them fresh, but it doesn't last very long. Blanch them briefly, cool in very cold water, drain, then freeze in freezer bags. Quart size usually works best.
